Gerd
Jahns was born in 1956.
His creativity came to the fore during his apprenticeship as decorator
and window dresser. Until the 1980’s his work took him across most of
Europe during which time he collected and collated countless
experiences, impressions and inspirations, many of which had a lasting
impact.
As art and music were omnipresent in his life he relocated, in 1983, to
West Berlin where he opened a music shop and established a name for
himself within the music scene.
In the 1990’s he moved to Bonn and installed an art studio in his home.
Inspired by the music of Van Morrison, Ry Cooder, Mark Knopfler etc. he
experimented with oil and acrylic paints and developed his own unique
style. Initially he painted for himself but over time people became
aware of his work, with a first major buyer being the Town Hall of Niederkassel.
He has been exhibiting since 2012 and his work is always positively
received. As a direct result of these exhibitions he has had buyers
from overseas, including Luxembourg and London. |
